Our Privacy Promise
SOL is built on trust. Your dreams, journals, and conversations are deeply personal. We believe this data belongs to you, not to advertisers, not to researchers, and never to the highest bidder. We do not scan or mine your private conversations for research. Content reaches SOL Research only when you deliberately submit it yourself.

What We Collect
Account Information
Email address and display name for authentication and personalization. We use Supabase Auth for secure, industry-standard authentication.
Your Content
Dreams, journal entries, and chat conversations you choose to create. This content is encrypted on your device before storage; the database stores ciphertext only.
Usage Analytics
Aggregated, anonymized analytics to improve the platform. We do not use third-party trackers or advertising cookies.
How Your Data is Protected
Encryption
Client-side encryption (AES-256-GCM) before storage, plus TLS in transit. The database stores ciphertext only.
Row-Level Security
Supabase PostgreSQL with RLS ensures only you can access your data.
Client-Side Processing
Your device holds the encryption key. A Recovery Code helps you restore access on a new device.
Data Retention
You control deletion. Export or delete your data anytime via your account settings.
How We Fund Research
SOL supports consciousness research at established institutions—without using your data.
- •No scanning of your conversations, and no metadata collected for research purposes
- •Your dreams, journals, and conversations are completely private
- •All subscription revenue funds external research at institutions like UVA and IONS
- •We fund researchers with proper methodology; we do not mine your private content for internal research

AI Processing & Third Parties
SOL uses AI models (currently Claude by Anthropic) to provide personalized insights and interpretations. When you interact with our AI features:
- •Your device decrypts the necessary text locally and sends plaintext to Anthropic's API to generate a response
- •Anthropic does not use your data to train their models (as per their API terms)
- •We minimize data sent to external services to what's necessary for the feature, and AI responses are encrypted before storage
Other third parties we use:
- •Supabase — Database and authentication
- •Vercel — Hosting and deployment
- •Anthropic — AI conversation and interpretation models (Claude)
- •OpenAI — Embeddings for semantic search
- •ElevenLabs — Optional voice synthesis for spoken responses
- •Tavily — Optional web search when you ask the assistant to look something up
- •Sentry — Crash and error reporting (with PII scrubbed before transmission)
